“Soundscape” Exhibits Audiovisual Interpretations of Architecture at the Museum of the City of New York

The Museum of the City of New York is hosting an installation of “Soundscape New York” from Karen Van Lengen, William Kenan Professor of Architecture. The installation, based on her Soundscape Architecture interactive web site opens on March 10 with a reception and panel discussion by Professor Van Lengen, Charlottesville artist and Soundscape co-creator James Welty, writer Tony Hiss, and Donald Albrecht, Curator of Architecture and Design at MCNY.

UVA Today has posted an interview with Professor Van Lengen, discussing her work with the sounds of New York City and her long interest in the act of listening.
